WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER
I warmly welcome all Igbobians, well-wishers and friends of Igbobi College to this forum as I begin my second term of the honorable position as your Chairman. This re-election for another two years is a significant event in my life, and from the bottom of my heart, I say a big thank you in appreciation of the trust and confidence fellow Igbobians have in me to continue in this position of honor.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity and do not take for granted the leadership position of our prestigious association which has made a name for itself as a bridge builder for Igbobi College. We have all enlisted in this partnership and pride ourselves in giving back to the institution that has given us so much of what is the driving force of who we all are today. Our primary obligation as in years past, is to continue to make Igbobi College a better place for generations to come. We must stay with the common goal of supporting and sustaining the heritage that is second to none. We must continue to give scholarships to allow students to excel; we must continue to assist in refining the infrastructure of the school; we must continue to support the teachers and other custodians of the institution; we must continue to get the school right back on the track of ultimate success.
Thank you very much for being part of this journey; we are all in this together and together we shall succeed. The role as your Chairman is one that comes with the responsibility of building upon what is already an established institution built by prominent and formidable ICOBANA leaders; Snr. Kayode Akiwowo, Late Dr. Sogba Bosu of blessed memory, Dr. Alfred Fayemi – our ICOBA Lifetime Achievement recipient, Snr, Goroye Tytler as well as my classmate and dear friend, Mr. Wale Gbalajobi who have all played significant roles in the success of ICOBA North America. I am honored and humbled by this vote of confidence you have in me – I shall continue to fight and struggle to keep the Igbobi College flame burning.
